Job title: Editorial Specialist

Location: London

Reporting to the European Marketing Director in the firm’s London office, the Editorial Specialist is an integral part of the L.E.K. marketing team, responsible for writing editorial marketing content and supporting the firm’s U.K. PR programme.

The role will play an important part in helping to define the key messages and customer stories that form the backbone of L.E.K.’s content marketing strategy. The ideal candidate will be a talented writer and editor, with a flair for creating engaging copy and an interest in business and the strategic challenges that face organisations today.

The role requires someone who is a rigorous researcher, highly organised, team-oriented and creative, with excellent attention to detail. The role offers exposure to a broad range of business sectors and strategic issues, and engagement with a high performing global marketing organisation. The Editorial Specialist works closely with other members of the marketing team in Europe and around the world, with senior members of industry sector teams across Europe, and with other internal stakeholder groups (e.g. recruitment, alumni, internal communications, etc).

Responsibilities include:

  • Research, draft and edit thought leadership papers, working with L.E.K. subject matter experts to creating compelling content
  • Edit written material for use in external publications (e.g. as by-lined articles), and for other marketing uses, including digital, video, infographics, social media, email, industry events and hosted client events
  • Support the marketing director to create and manage relationships with key national and trade titles, placing by-lined articles, handling and responding to press enquiries, drafting press comment and arranging interviews
  • Monitor and track press coverage, producing reports and sharing coverage internally
  • Provide support for other marketing initiatives and special projects as needed

 Qualifications/attributes:

  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a writing/editorial role
  • Proactive, with proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise appropriately and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative writer with a flair for communicating complex concepts in clear, concise and compelling language
  • Ability to both work independently and collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Ability to deliver high quality service and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills with a strong drive for results
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite, particularly Word and PowerPoin
  • Proficient in using and administrating social media tools, particularly LinkedIn
  • Experience working in a professional services or other B2B organisation preferred
  • Degree-level education in marketing or related field preferred
