What we are looking for:

We are currently hiring at the Second Year Associate and Associate Consultant level. Joining L.E.K. as a generalist will enable you to develop a world-class foundation in commercial problem-solving as you address the issues that face today’s business leaders. A wide variety of projects will give you experience of all aspects of commercial activity, from strategy to finance, and marketing to operations, across a diverse range of industries. Supported by industry-leading training, you will quickly develop a highly valuable commercial skill set in a collaborative and rewarding team-based environment. Regular, direct exposure to senior team members allows you access to the expertise of those regarded as leaders in their fields. As you progress you will take on a significant level of responsibility and build your leadership skills.

With the guidance and support of an experienced senior team, Second Year Associates and Associate Consultants are responsible for:

  • Conducting primary and secondary research on markets, competitors and customers which will become the basis of the team's strategic recommendations
  • Performing rigorous strategic and financial analyses, using leading-edge software and techniques, to develop deep understanding of commercial issues
  • Collaborating with team members to identify trends, draw conclusions, develop insights and transform those insights into actionable recommendations for the client
  • Making L.E.K. an enjoyable and rewarding place to work by coaching colleagues and transferring skills, offering constructive advice, and contributing to a welcoming and friendly office culture

Training and development

You will be supported with a comprehensive orientation programme, followed by thorough monthly training sessions designed to complement your on-the-job experience. These cover the full range of skills needed to develop and progress your career within L.E.K.

In addition to academic achievement, we are looking for a sense of intellectual curiosity that will inspire you to develop a deep understanding of any client situation, and to generate innovative answers to complex questions. We want people with the ability to think in logical, structured ways, together with the creativity to look beyond the obvious. We recruit from a wide range of disciplines in both the arts and sciences, and do not require existing technical skills – just a strong desire to learn.

Specific skills

  • Outstanding academic achievement
  • 12+ months of relevant strategy consulting experience
  • Additional corporate experience in the industrial or Private Equity Industry is also appreciated
  • Strong communication skills, alongside demonstrated teamwork & leadership
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills combined with proven expertise in strategy consulting approaches
  • Numerically literate, strong excel skills, and comfortable with data interrogation and reporting
  • Strong project management skills including work planning, presentation development and quality control of analysis
  • Fluency in English, additional European languages are advantageous
