Senior Data & Analytics Specialist

L.E.K.’s Data and Analytics (D&A) team works alongside and supports case teams in solving a range of analytical problems, enabling L.E.K. to provide clients with the best possible advice. 

Our collaborative approach to analytics is unique: our consulting teams leverage a high-powered self-service toolkit to build the analysis that underpins our commercial recommendations. As part of our rapidly growing team, you will be working alongside experienced project teams to develop cutting edge solutions to our clients’ toughest commercial problems. 

This role focuses on leveraging deep technical and commercial expertise alongside team management skills to support the overall delivery of analytics as part of casework and sales support, as well as growing our D&A service lines and L.E.K.’s D&A capability. 

 

The opportunity

Day-to-day responsibilities and required skills include:

Driving the sale and delivery of analytics work as well as contributing to overall strategy

Delivering modules of projects, focused on advanced analytics and D&A strategy

Supporting cases with analytical pathfinding, analytical approaches and execution

Contributing to sales process (proposals, discussion packs, workshops) to demonstrate L.E.K.’s D&A capabilities, including identifying opportunities to leverage D&A

Supporting, coaching and coordinating members of the D&A and project teams

Driving awareness of D&A capabilities, internally and externally

Helping drive thought leadership activities (e.g., Executive Insights)

You will be joining a growing team with strong senior sponsorship, with the opportunity to shape your role as you progress. The role also includes dedicated time to your own personal development goals, for which funding and other support is available

 

What we are looking for

The Senior Data & Analytics Specialist role suits anyone with a passion to crack commercial and analytical problems and help enable others to do the same. 

In addition to technical skills, we are looking for bright and driven people who want to deploy analytics within high-impact commercial contexts, and help others do the same.  You should have experience applying analytics tools to real world problems. We commonly use Alteryx and Tableau but also adapt to our clients’ choice of software. 

You should have a sense of intellectual curiosity that inspires you to develop and generate innovative answers to complex questions. 

We work together in teams, so we look for people who can collaborate and communicate well. We look for those who will make an impact by being proactive and taking ownership of their work with energy and enthusiasm. 

 

Required:

Expert knowledge and experience of working in Power BI  

Expert experience in any of the following ETL tools: Dataiku, RapidMiner, KNIME, Alteryx, Databricks, etc.,  

Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and GCP 

Experience in working with databases such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift etc. 

Deep commercial and strategy knowledge, ability to tackle complex problems and generate client impact 

Strong communication skills to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including communicating findings through Powerpoint 

Strong project management skills including work planning, presentation development, quality control, and stakeholder management 

At least 4 years’ experience in using these skills to solve commercial problems 

Desirable:

Previous experience in a similar capacity, working for a consultancy/strategy company 

Experience with machine learning, programming languages, databases or cloud applications is beneficial, but not essential 

Experience in other visualisation tools such as Tableau, Looker, Qlik etc. 

Experience in languages such as Python, SQL or R
