Information & Research Specialist

L.E.K is seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on and versatile Information Specialist with knowledge and experience of Life Sciences to work as part of the Information and Research Centre (IRC). Based at L.E.K.’s London office, the role reports into the Information & Research Manager.

The opportunity

Driving our analysis and client recommendations, information and research is fundamental to the success of L.E.K Consulting. We see this role as vital to the ongoing development of our research and information management capabilities across Europe. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a focus for our European Life Sciences research efforts
  • Building strong relationships with members of the European Life Sciences practice group
  • Providing research assistance for Case and Proposal work across all sectors
  • Helping project teams find critical information – leveraging specialist databases as well as other information online
  • Seeking out new and varied data sources, including working with the team to build out a repository of public and proprietary data sources
  • Creating research guides, and other training materials for using different media (videos, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Delivering training on and promoting awareness of the available data sources and broader research best practices
  • Day-to-day administration including working with vendors and liaising with internal core services teams as appropriate

What we are looking for

  • An enthusiasm for supporting and upskilling staff to undertake their own research
  • Passion for discovering commercial insight through application of research methodologies to complex problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (accuracy, attention to detail, verbal and written communications) - including working directly with partners and other senior members of the firm
  • Experienced researcher who can undertake targeted research tasks across a broad range of potential sources
  • At least two years’ experience working in the information/research function of a professional services firm or in a corporate within the life sciences/biotech/pharma sectors
  • Hands-on experience of using some of the life sciences research tools, such as Evaluate, Pharmaprojects, PriceRX, Cortellis, Symphony Health, Datamonitor Healthcare, Biomedtracker, Poli Strat
  • Familiarity with using a range of online business research databases, e.g. Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Orbis, Profound, Mergermarket and Factiva
  • Experience of working with Sharepoint
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to tight deadlines
