Human Resources Specialist

Overview:


The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for performing HR-related duties, working closely with the senior HR team to support the execution and administration of the people function for the San Francisco office. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits and leave administration, employee relations, onboarding and performance management. This hands-on role requires the ability to build and leverage relationships while effectively balancing ongoing, short term tactical work with longer term strategic needs and challenges.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as on the ground point of contact for all employee relations matters
  • Partner with the senior HR team to communicate HR standards, procedures and policies
  • Coordinate with the senior HR team to provide on the ground support for employee resource groups, programs and initiatives
  • Support the employee onboarding experiences, including background checks, processing new hire paperwork and orientation
  • Support the employee exit process including preparing COBRA and separation paperwork, conducting exit interviews, etc.
  • Assist with managing benefits and leave administration
  • Other duties deemed appropriate

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of related experienced; preferably within a professional services firm or similar environment
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with a focus on quality results/deliverables, working to complete tasks thoroughly and requesting assistance when necessary
  • Outstanding client service focus
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgement and be a self-starter while also being a strong team player
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high caliber and dynamic environment
  • Composure and confidentiality required to handle disciplinary and grievance issues
  • The position will require travel to other L.E.K. offices as needed
