Market Insights Specialist

The position reports to the Manager of Market Insights and is responsible for supporting case teams in the execution of all aspects of primary market research and interacts with external data collection partners to ensure all tasks are conducted according to L.E.K. specifications in a quality and timely manner.  The candidate is expected to facilitate the adoption of industry best practices and methods, especially in regard to the development and review of surveys and other study materials created by staff to insure the highest standard of quality and compliance with internal policies.  The Market Insights Specialist will work with the Director, Manager, and Professional Development group in the preparation of staff training materials. The position will also support the Managing Directors in their client development efforts by providing research design recommendations and external third-party cost estimates for inclusion in client proposal submissions.  The candidate is expected to optimize knowledge, applied experience and professional skills to promote best practices throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and inputs for primary research designs, sampling plans and survey questionnaires
  • Develops standard questionnaire templates tailored to specific industry sectors for use by consulting staff in drafting study materials
  • Reviews questionnaires and other study materials, checks the accuracy of test links for online surveys and reviews soft launch data for overall integrity
  • Coordinates vendors, and identifies and secures external resources needed to efficiently execute projects
  • Solicits bid requests from external data collection companies and field agencies
  • Oversees quality controls for all external communications and vendor deliverables
  • Assists in the identification, preparation and dissemination of staff training materials
  • Supports the execution of internal surveys and benchmarking initiatives used for client development and case analyses
  • Assists the Manager and Director of Market Insights in advancing market research best practices to consulting staff

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant market research industry experience, preferably on the supplier side.
  • Strong communications skills, including a comfort level communicating across all levels within the organization.
  • Broad range of industry b2c and b2b experiences, ideally in the life sciences/healthcare, consumer goods, basic industries/industrials, and media and technology areas.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Basic working knowledge of market research tools for survey programming (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, etc.) and analytical software (MarketSight/Q Research, IBM SPSS, Tableau and others) a plus
  • Detail oriented with excellent written/verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Energy, enthusiasm and drive to create positive working relationships with vendors and case teams
  • Ability to multi-task, incorporating good organizational skills and flexibility, to prioritize work and deliver maximum business value
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
