Tax Accountant

The Tax Accountant will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and preparation of work papers to support various company tax filings which may include property tax, sales and use, estimated tax payments, and company tax returns. The right individual will be a self-starter with attention to detail, as well as understanding the needs of a growing business. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Tax on special projects, must be able to maintain confidentiality, and communicate current project status reports effectively.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize tax research tools to determine proper tax treatment of various federal and state transactions
  • Assist in preparation of state and local returns including sales and use and property tax.
  • Prepare tax workpapers and assist in preparation of company returns
  • Maintain fixed asset accounts
  • Assist in quarterly tax filings
  • Other projects as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 1-2 years of experience in a tax accounting role
  • Experience in Prosystem fixed assets a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
