Job Title: Human Resources Specialist

Location: New York, NY

Overview:

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for performing HR-related duties, working closely with the senior HR team to support the execution and administration of the people function for the New York office.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding and performance management.  This hands-on role requires the ability to build and leverage relationships while effectively balancing ongoing, short term tactical work with longer term strategic needs and challenges

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as on the ground point of contact for all employee relations matters
  • Partners with the senior HR team to communicate HR standards, procedures and policies
  • Partner with senior HR team to be on the ground support for employee resource groups
  • Responsible for campus recruiting activities, acting as the school liaison and coordinating school events
  • Responsible for creating interview schedules and developing supporting materials, obtaining space, assisting candidates with travel, interviewer sign-up, greeting candidates, arranging catering, and other tasks as needed.
  • Supports the employee onboarding process, benefits administration, orientation, etc.
  • Support the employee exit process including preparing COBRA paperwork, exit interviews etc.
  • Other duties deemed appropriate

 

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of related experienced (HR and/or Recruiting); preferably within a professional services firm or similar environment
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with a focus on quality results/deliverables
  • Outstanding client service focus
  • Ability to be self-guided and motivated, working to complete tasks thoroughly and requesting assistance, when necessary
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high calibre and dynamic environment
  • The position will require travel to campuses and other L.E.K. offices as needed
