Reporting to the Editorial Director in the firm’s Boston office, the Editorial Specialist will be an integral member of the marketing team while also working closely with subject matter experts across various industry practices, including but not limited to the Industrials practice, to produce a broad range of white papers and other content. Critical to this role is the ability to conduct early stage analysis on thought leadership, including topic definition, data/research gathering and outline development -- while also ensuring consistency of L.E.K. messaging.

 Responsibilities:

 

  • Research white paper topics, prepare detailed outlines and related PowerPoint charts/diagrams; this includes
    •     Collaborating with the firm’s Partners, Principals and Managers to outline key          business issues and identify topics for white papers
    •     Structuring analyses and approaches to answer critical questions to key                    business issues
    •     Conducting thorough research/data gathering
    •     Drafting detailed outlines for each white paper
  • Provide writing and editing support to the firm’s Editorial Director and Managing Directors on white papers and other proprietary thought leadership
  • Write and edit web and email copy, blog posts, bylined articles, award entries, and speaker submission abstracts
  • Assist in managing the production of white papers, including coordinating with outside designers on layout, proofreading/quality control, as well as reviewing for compliance with brand standards
  • Assist Editorial Director in managing PR activities for various sectors, including: maintaining ongoing relationships with key press contacts; generating news placements in trade and business publications; and measuring and tracking media activity and results
  • Coordinate with other team members on social media and email marketing outreach
  • Provide other general marketing program management support as requested

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 5-7 years relevant work experience; preferably in a professional services environment
  • Strong research, writing, editing and proofreading skills, especially in thought leadership and digital formats skills with proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Deep knowledge of digital content channels
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and lead multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable working with and advising senior executives and other team members
  • Ability to understand and communicate business drivers
  • Critical thinker, creative problem solver and attention to detail and quality
  • Bachelor’s degree required
