Director of Knowledge Management:

The Director of Knowledge Management will lead the Knowledge Management (KM) function across the global firm, working closely with key stakeholders from the Partner group, to ensure a viable and value-adding service to the business. Key stakeholders include: the regional KM sponsoring Partners, the Regional Management Committees, the Global Leadership Team, as well as the Sector and Service Line Heads. The individual will champion internal insight and intellectual property development, managing a team made up of KM professionals based in key offices around the world. In addition, they will liaise closely with the sector and service line-based Practice Specialists, who utilize the assembled intellectual property (IP) for the benefit of their practice groups. The Director of Knowledge Management will define and drive the strategy, processes, content and technology relating to IP development within the firm, which will have a direct impact on the sales, marketing and delivery capability of the firm.

Responsibilities

Drive Internal Insights Vision & Strategy

Refine and finalize the KM strategy to ensure alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives

  • Maximize the benefits of IP creation and dissemination within the constraints of protecting client confidentiality and ensure that the business practices deliver this content on a timely basis
  • Act as the Project Sponsor / Manager to implement the strategy collaborating with other departments, such as IT and Marketing, to deliver projects in a timely fashion, maximizing the benefits to the broader business.
  • Conduct annual reviews to  refine and improve IP development practices around the globe and within sectors
  • Coordinate with regional MD KM leadership to set regional strategic priorities

Directly Manage IP Development Globally

  • Oversee the global team of  KM managers and specialists
  • Collaborate with sector  leaders and specialists to assist in development of sector-level IP priorities
  • Establish and control the KM budget

Be the Face of IP Development for the Firm

  • Act as a champion for KM within the firm
  • Ensure that KM is firmly embedded in business processes

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in strategy consulting 
  • Strong project management skills to deliver projects on time and to the requisite level of quality, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed negotiating and influencing skills
  • The ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business 
  • Energy, enthusiasm and drive to create a positive working relationship with the business and the team
  • Experience in managing and leading a team, showing understanding of different cultures to achieve global business objectives
  • Ability to multi-task, incorporating good organizational skills and flexibility, to prioritize work and deliver the maximum business value
  • Ability to build strong  networks across the business to develop sponsorship at all levels of the business
  • Proven technical awareness and commercial astuteness

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required     
  • Strategy consulting, consulting background experience is preferred
