Assistant Marketing Manager – Australia

Job description:

The Assistant Marketing Manager is one of the most important members of the marketing team at L.E.K. Consulting. The team is based in India and provides support to the leadership team, in Australia.

The successful candidate will join the Mumbai office and must be willing to work as per Australian Eastern Standard Time zone (AEST), which is 4.5 hours ahead of Indian Standard Time (IST). Additionally, the candidate should account for daylight saving adjustments as part of their working hours.

The Assistant Marketing Manager will be responsible for supporting the Marketing Manager in driving a detailed thought leadership and marketing campaign calendar forward to back a leadership team that works across industry sectors, such as healthcare, mobility, transport and infrastructure, industrials, consumer products, energy, telecommunications, aviation, and airports.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include marketing coordination with a diverse group of stakeholders, executing targeted marketing campaigns, developing and managing the social media pipeline, supporting client engagement initiatives and events, IP generation, research, and tracking performance measurement and analytics. The individual in this role will gain exposure to a holistic B2B marketing set-up, at a fast-moving and international company.

The role includes, but is not limited to the following areas:-

Overall responsibilities:

  • Work with the Marketing Manager, Head of Marketing & Communications, and senior leadership in designing and implementing a marketing and communications strategy, including how we use our marketing channels (e.g., website, publications, social, media engagement, events, partnerships, etc.)
  • Develop, execute, and support strategic marketing initiatives to engage target audience through thought leadership, publications, email campaigns, videos, social media, PR, events, conferences, and partnerships
  • Guide the Marketing Coordinator(s) to ensure timely execution of marketing plans for various industries/sectors
  • Collaborate with other marketing teams across L.E.K., internal cross-functional teams i.e., finance, graphics/design, legal, etc., and third-party contractors
  • Conduct timely analysis and reporting of campaign analytics through strong data-driven reports to illustrate achievement of KPIs and provide results and trends
  • Ideate and present new initiatives that the team can execute to optimize marketing activities and achieve goals
  • Support the leadership team with business and client development activities, personal branding initiatives and any ad-hoc requests

Plan and promote thought leadership:

  • Develop marketing and thought leadership materials, including executive insights, articles, infographics, short reports, presentations, explainer videos, etc.
  • Identify and liaise with designers to develop printed material; liaise with the US Marketing team to maintain branding standards and manage content review
  • Work with marketing team members to ensure timely social media coverage, reporting, and tracking
  • Maximize reach of the content through L.E.K. and the partner’s marketing channels


Manage social media, website leads, PR/media & corresponding outreach:

  • Develop an effective social media pipeline and ensure promotions from Partner/ Global L.E.K. accounts
  • Coordinate and liaise with third-party PR agents/agencies to manage media outreach, initiate outreach to journalists, conduct regular press scans, organize and liaise Partner meetings with journalists, secure coverage of relevant thought leadership in the press

Events and conferences:

  • Manage virtual events, support logistics for events remotely, including networking elements for the teams attending the conference; working with conference organizers to facilitate introductions and meetings
  • Identify target conferences and negotiate conference sponsorships or speaking spots with organizers; secure and finalize contracts
  • Implement follow up initiatives for partners to connect with new and existing clients

Collaboration with teams across L.E.K. offices:

  • Work with L.E.K.’s global digital marketing team, events expert team and, as appropriate, with colleagues in other regions to achieve specific as well as overall marketing goals
  • Support overall brand building efforts for L.E.K. as a key representative of the marketing team at L.E.K. Consulting

 

Role requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of prior professional experience in a marketing/ external affairs/ communications/ strategic partnerships role, preferably in the professional services sector with outreach in multiple markets
  • Good understanding of consulting industry as well as the competitive market landscape
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Capabilities in digital, social media and PR
  • A business-orientated focus and attention to detail
  • A solution-orientated mindset and a ‘thinking outside the box’ approach
  • Tact, professionalism, and a high degree of integrity
  • A team player and someone who can collaborate with others
  • Ability to interact with senior leaders and various stakeholders within the organization
  • Strong capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint, with an aptitude for learning
  • Strong quantitative capabilities and facility with data-driven analytics
  • Comfort with ambiguity, a fast-paced business environment
