L.E.K. is seeking an experienced strategy consultant to join as a Manager in the growing Southeast Asia team. Based in Singapore, the team undertakes projects across Southeast Asia for both international and local clients across a large range of industries, including healthcare, industrials & construction, aviation & transport and private equity. The practice is growing quickly presenting an exciting and rare opportunity for a Manager to join as an external hire and influence the growth of the practice.

L.E.K. Managers are expected to lead multiple case teams and be actively involved in tackling complex problems for our clients, maintain deep long-term relationships with multiple clients, and develop expertise in particular industries or sectors. They are also active in overall firm leadership and serve as mentors to those around them.

L.E.K.’s strong focus on strategy allows for generally shorter cases which provides a greater variety of experience for our consultants. Although travel is likely to be required across the region, L.E.K. typically spends less time on client site than other firms, allowing for more time spent in the office in Singapore.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Work directly with clients and Managing Directors, set project objectives, develop analytical frameworks, structure and assign work responsibilities and overall tracking and management of the client deliverable
  • Structure complex strategic and technical problems into discrete modules
  • Bear primary responsibility for understanding the critical issues affecting the client and finding the right answer
  • Manage, evaluate, and improve the performance of team members
  • Manage multiple cases expertly and efficiently
  • Deliver appropriate and timely recommendations to the client based upon the proper interpretation of the case team’s research and analysis
  • Contribute to the management of the firm through involvement in areas such as professional development, new client development, recruiting, information systems, etc.

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree from a top-tier university is required and a MBA from a top ranked business school is preferred
  • At least 2-3 years in a leading management consulting firm with demonstrated project management experience. Expertise in strategy and mergers & acquisitions is a must.  The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years relevant post MBA experience and/or a total of 6-8 years relevant experience
  • Additionally the candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in Southeast Asia or can speak an ASEAN language with business fluency

  • Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills combined with proven expertise in strategy consulting approaches
  • Proven ability to motivate and coach people in multiple dimensions including analytical skills, project management, client relationship management, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills including work planning, presentation development and quality control of analysis
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written and the ability to influence others
  • Bright, conceptual and a quick learner, able to quickly assess a situation and generate new insights and actionable ideas
  • Deep understanding of the Southeast Asian business and cultural context and long term career aspirations in Asia
