Role description

As a Consultant in L.E.K. Consulting’s Life Sciences practice, you will have a real impact on the future of global healthcare. As a senior member of the team you will get immediate management responsibility, becoming the nexus linking the project team’s insights to our client’s needs. L.E.K. Consultants are charged with cracking the case and ensuring that we effectively answer all of the client’s key questions. You will also be in charge of managing the team’s day-to-day activities, providing guidance and structure to ensure that the team understands the key issues and is on-track to address them.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work      directly with clients and Managing Directors, to outline clients’ key      issues and help set project objectives
  • Structure      complex strategic and technical problems into discrete modules and provide      life sciences industry thought leadership to aid project execution
  • Manage      the day-to-day activities of the project team and provide guidance to      junior Associates
  • Supervise      research and analysis and help synthesize key insights and answers
  • Understand      the critical issues affecting the client and communicate key insights and      recommendations based upon the case team’s research and analysis
  • Manage,      evaluate, and improve the performance of team members
  • Contribute      to improvement of the firm through involvement in areas such as      professional development, recruiting, thought leadership creation,      practice building, etc.

Qualifications:

  • An      advanced degree from a top ranked school is required (MBA, M.D., PhD,      Postdoc)
  • Ideal      candidate will have post-advanced degree experience focused on the life      sciences industry
  • Experience      in a management consulting firm with demonstrated project and team      management is a plus
  • Superior      analytical skills combined with demonstrated expertise in strategy      consulting approaches and life sciences industry issues
  • Proven      ability to motivate and coach people in multiple dimensions including      analytical skills, project management, client relationship management, and      interpersonal skills
  • Strong      project management skills including work planning, presentation      development, quality control, and client management
  • Excellent      communication skills both oral and written and the ability to influence      others
  • Bright,      conceptual and a quick learner, able to quickly assess a situation and      generate new insights and actionable ideas
