Senior Business Development Manager/BD Director

Overview:


The Senior BD Manager/BD Director oversees the firm’s China Business Development efforts. The major responsibility is to drive specific aspects of L.E.K. client development work in support of and as assigned by China Directors. The Senior BD Manager/BD Director also supports the firm’s brand equity which involves sector specific marketing campaigns.

Job Responsibilities:


Develop robust practice areas building upon sectors of existing knowledge for L.E.K. in agreement and collaboration with the China Managing Directors


  • Partner with individual managing director to identify high potential target base on criteria appropriate for L.E.K. business and develop sales strategies accordingly
  • Set up and conduct client development meetings, in conjunction with L.E.K. partners or independently, to introduce L.E.K. credentials, to identify potential project needs, and to further client relationships
  • Identify and follow up on opportunities to sell the firm’s services via referrals, campaigns, networking and industry events
    • Take inbound enquiries and actively follow up outbound opportunities via sector specific campaign
    • Engage in project scope discussions, either directly or in collaboration with L.E.K. consulting team, to ensure clear understanding of project objectives, scope, and budget
    • Organize bidding material preparations, attend bidding on behalf of L.E.K., lead or support the development of proposals and other presentations; follow up and facilitate the client development process
    • Help manage sector sales pipeline and proposal follow up
  • Actively manage contact and account network as well as database
  • Develop an understanding of assigned sector’s business issues and the way L.E.K. can address them; support partners in developing latest sector introduction and credential materials
  • Develop sector specific campaigns and execute, independently or in collaborating with marketing team, to build L.E.K. sector presence and generate interest among the target audience

 


Requirements:


The desired candidate should exhibit the following qualities and skills:


  • Focused most of his/her efforts on senior executives
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Comfort with telephone prospecting and team selling
  • Ability to both work independently and collaborate effectively advising senior leadership team
  • Demonstrated long-term commitment to organization during his/her career
  • Highly proactive, achieving, great desire for growth and success; interested in participating in a fast-paced, high growth business building environment
  • Good organisation skills and close attention to details, including careful record keeping with regard to all sales activity
  • Minimum 10 years B2B sales experience of intangibles, 5 of which are hands-on consulting project experience or in a professional services capacity  
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English and Chinese
  • University degree and above; MBA degree is a plus
