About the Role

L.E.K. is currently moving to a global finance platform with the initial implementation across UK and Australia. As the dedicated APAC Project & Systems Accountant, you will work closely with your UK colleagues and be responsible for the oversight and implementation of the system in the Australian offices initially and preparation for the Asia offices in early 2018. This project is well underway. The testing and implementation requires dedicated support over the next 6+ months.

We are looking for an experienced systems accountant with demonstrated team leadership and project management experience. You will be pro-active and forward thinking with strong drive and motivation. You will be someone who thrives in a goal-oriented environment and has experience engaging with and training stakeholders at all levels. You will need to be able to work remotely with your UK colleagues.

What skills you need

You must be equipped with the skill set and experience to quickly comprehend L.E.K. Business processes, including;

  • Experience in implementation of SAP or similar ERP systems would be advantageous particularly the products Business ByDesign (ByD), Business Objects (BOBJ), Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC) and Concur
  • Ability to optimise business processes for maximum efficiency and contribute to the development of internal controls and accounting policies
  • Apply flexibility to international GAAP variations when rolling out the systems across Asia. A good understanding of multicurrency, VAT treatments, and other localised accounting and reporting requirements
  • Ability to make recommendations in regards to Revenue Recognition models, WIP, and monthly financial reporting as appropriate to professional services firms
  • Experience at a senior professional level including demonstrated ability to provide key stakeholders with high level reports and advice
  • As the project accountant, you will need to ensure balance sheet items, including but not limited to; accruals, prepayments, intercompany, suppliers and client accounts are fully accounted for when transferred to the new system.
  • Prepare all necessary reconciliations regarding case revenue and WIP for year-end audit and follow up on all financial accounting related questions from our auditors

You will also have:

  • Proven experience in developing database models and warehouse that will benefit the Business Objects tools to create innovative dashboards, along with standard reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the PMO and wider SAP Global Project Team in providing updates, reporting key milestones and tracking deliverables so they are completed on time
  • Confidence in testing, auditing and reviewing transactions posted to the finance system
  • Willingness to travel overseas for workshops, trainings and meetings (as needed)

Other elements of your role will include:

  • Drafting systems documentation on processes and procedures
  • Leading the Australian and Asian finance teams in systems training and user acceptance testing
  • Assisting with preparation of annual budgets in the new BPC reporting module
  • Support the CFO and Finance team in the successful implementation of SAP Business ByDesign, Business Objects, BPC and Concur
  • Assist and/or lead special projects relating to financial systems upgrades and implementations as may be required
