Position Overview:
The Business Development and Procurement Specialist will play a key role in supporting local and global Partners’ efforts to drive revenue growth through the management, distribution, completion and submission of all incoming RFPs and tenders in Saudi Arabia and the surrounding region.
Purpose of the job
The BD & Procurement Specialist will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, distributing these to the appropriate Partners and teams globally and then working with these Partners/teams to submit proposals. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the management of the Saudi Arabia and broader Middle East CRM.
Major Responsibilities:
- Monitor, manage and maintain procurement and RFP platforms.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients and Partners.
- Qualify incoming opportunities and direct to the Partners with the right expertise.
- Assign business development tasks to Partners and clearly/frequently communicate status and accountability of open tasks
- Assist Partners in preparing proposals in a manner appropriate to the target client.
- Track, analyse, and report metrics on sales and business development outcomes, extracting insight and suggesting action where appropriate.
- Manage pipeline of live opportunities in CRM ensuring information is current and accurate.
- Ensure accuracy of CRM data both directly and via collaborating with other data stakeholders (EAs, Marketing, IT and peer BD & Procurement Specialists).
- Ensure new business opportunities reach their fullest potential, in collaboration with broader L.E.K. functions.
- Track media and press releases for developments that provide credible reasons to engage with clients.
Candidate Requirements:
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle a high volume of relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commercial / client mindset.
- Knowledge of the local business environment and cultural nuances including familiarity with segments, organisational structures, value drivers, and the strategic issues organisations face
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and structured manner.
- High levels of tenacity to see processes through to bid submission.
- Highly collaborative and responsive.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the Saudi Arabian market.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
- Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
- Experience with RFP portals in Saudi Arabia, preferably Etimad.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred, but not essential.
